Chris de Vos (1870-1949) |

Chris de Vos started his career in 1894 at the 'Nederlandse Opera' of Van der Linden in a small role in de 'Barber of Sevilla' (Rossini) and sang already soon great parts. He developed into a heroic tenor and appeared in Wagner-roles as well as the French- and the Italian repertory. He made in 1904-05 a tour through America and Canada. He joined the opera of Antwerp. His last performance was in the role of 'Siegfried' (Siegfried,Wagner) in 1929. Later he was the organiser of opera-performances in Carré (theatre in Amsterdam) and he had a leading function at the radio. |
