Hein Meens, born 1952

 

Hein Meens repertoire covers a wide area, from Claudio Monteverdi to the modern composers. He appeared from 1978 at 'Opera Forum' - his debut in 'Figaros Hochzeit' - and at the 'Nederlandse Opera' roles as Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Lenski (Jevgenj Onjegin), Albert Herring in the same opera of Benjamin Britten and the railway-chief in the premiere of Symposion (1994, Peter Schat). He appeared regular in operas in concert-form, abroad and at festivals. He also sings in oratorio and as lieder-singer.
